The OEC PTA Read-a-Thon is a school wide reading fundraiser designed to encourage students at Park and Brookside to build strong reading habits while supporting PTA programs.

Here's how it typically works:

Students read
Children track the minutes (or books) they read over 2 weeks

Families gather sponsors
Friends and family can pledge a flat donation or sponsor based on reading minutes.

Incentives & excitement
We have prizes, classroom challenges, spirit days, or school-wide goals to keep it fun and motivating.

Funds support students
Money raised goes directly back into the schools, helping fund author visits, field days, enrichment programs, teacher supplies, SEL initiatives, community events, and more.
